From the content collected, I learned that a forest school is capable of teaching children everything that a standard curriculum can provide and more. For example, forest schools improve physical health because the children are largely outdoors, improve fine and gross motor skills to interact with the natural environment, accommodates for multiple learning styles through every sense the children can interact with, promotes safe risk-taking because of safe limits and children making their own judgments and choices, and many more benefits.
From what I've found on pinterest, Forest Schools not only help the children who go to their programs, activity ideas started from forest schools find their way into schools that do not have the opportunity to move their programs into forests and amazing activities such as bringing in natural materials, creating structures with large sticks found outside, and decorating the classroom with leaves and branches make for a more natural environment within a school setting.
As I collected videos from youtube, I noticed that children in the videos seemed more active, more willing to explore their environment. Through safe boundaries determined between the child and the instructor, there is a feeling of trust and so the teachers need not hover over children for safety but can take a step back as observer and facilitator in the children's environment.
